Artful Negotiation
When resolving even the most contentious Family Law disputes, “Artful Negotiation” is Marina Taylor’s byword — reducing confrontation, developing an atmosphere conducive to logical arguments, revealing mutual benefits, and producing successful settlements.
Her goal is to always:
- Protect client interests
- Aggressively pursue client goals
- Explain and recommend the best legal options
- Execute an effective plan of action to obtain successful results, and
- Leverage her strong courtroom skills to get fair out-of-court settlements and court rulings.
Marina proudly points to her decades of practice as a Family Law negotiator and litigator, which has earned her a reputation as one of the best divorce lawyers in Brandon, Riverview, and Hillsborough County.
Initially, Marina worked for nearly a decade as a Registered Nurse specializing in oncology and mental health care at several major Tampa Bay regional hospitals. Witnessing the depression and anxiety experienced by those patients going through a divorce led her to change careers to become a Marital and Family Law Attorney.
After graduating from Stetson University College of Law in 1986, she briefly worked in the family law department of Tampa a law firm, where she gained considerable experience, enabling her to found her own “boutique” practice in 1993. She is now exclusively focused on all aspects of Family and Marital Law for her clients in Brandon, Riverview, and Hillsborough County.
Marina is a dedicated problem solver who is driven to help people in need, whether in healthcare or the law. Whether her clients seek legal help in a divorce, a child custody and support dispute, an alimony agreement, or a modification of an existing judgment or custody decree, Marina applies a tenaciously aggressive style to achieve the legal results her clients expect.
As Marina tells it…
“I pride myself in my genuine desire to help people when family issues become out of hand. My ability to think ‘outside the box’ when applying legal principles is what makes me successful in reaching out-of-court settlements. I am a problem solver with a unique set of skills, talents, and experiences that set me apart from other family law attorneys. My greatest strength is to artfully negotiate out-of-court settlements and, when necessary, apply my very direct and no-nonsense approach in the courtroom.”
Marina’s family law clients learn firsthand to appreciate her unique skills, talents, and experiences which have molded her into a different kind of lawyer.
She is particularly skilled in dealing with divorce cases involving long-term marriages, military divorce cases, and establishing effective parenting plans. She is also experienced in ensuring that court-ordered enforcement and contempt cases are resolved to her client’s benefit.
She understands that an intense divorce or custody dispute can cause hurt, emotional pain, and stress. Clients learn during their initial no-cost consultation that Marina Taylor’s goal is where possible to quickly negotiate and settle their case through mediation. She focuses on solving issues according to her client’s goals by using the most cost-effective tactics and the most appropriate legal options.
When that means resorting to litigation, Marina Taylor’s demeanor and performance in the courtroom are honed by a lifetime work ethic of serving people and her many years of experience as a Family Law litigator. Her goal throughout the process is for each client to receive the best possible outcome in their case.
When she is not arguing in the courtroom, preparing briefs, or mediating disputes, Marina unwinds at home caring for and riding her Warmblood performance horses on her 15-acre farm in Riverview.
